Assistant Professor, Dept. of ECE, JNNCE, Shivamogga, Karnataka, India ---------------------------------------------------------------------***--------------------------------------------------------------------Abstract – CDMA is a type of channel access method in which users using the same channel will use the same frequency band and also can access the channel at the same time. Using CDMA, more users can be allocated in the channel compared to TDMA and FDMA. CDMA can be achieved using Direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) and Frequency hopping spread spectrum(FHSS). FHSS-CDMA consumes less power compared to DSSS-CDMA. High data rate modulation schemes are used along with FHSS-CDMA to deliver high quality multimedia content. High data rate modulation techniques have good bandwidth efficiency in FHSS-CDMA. In wireless communication, QAM is one of the most commonly used modulation technique. Due to noise and interference, high data rate modulation techniques are prone to errors. FHSS-CDMA with QAM-64 is simulated over AWGN , Rician and Rayleigh fading channels using MATLAB 10 version. It is observed from the simulation that, Rician fading channel gives less bit errors compared to Rayleigh fading channel due to line of sight communication.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Classification of Digital Modulated Signals Using Linear Discriminant Analysis on Faded Channel

In this paper, modulation classification of digitally modulated signals is done using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) under the influence of additive white guassian noise (AWGN) as well as the channel effect such as fading. The modulations considered for the classification purpose are PSK 2 to 64, FSK 2to 64 and QAM 2 to 64. The channels considered throughout the simulations are AWGN, Raylei...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Capacity and Error Probability Analysis for Orthogonal Space-Time Block Codes over Correlated Rayleigh and Rician Fading Channels

In this paper, the capacity and error probability of orthogonal space-time block codes (STBCs) are presented for PAM/PSK/QAM modulation in correlated flat fading channels. We consider an equivalent scalar AWGN (additive white Gaussian noise) channel with a channel gain proportional to the Frobenius norm of the matrix channel. A unified approach to the error probability analysis for correlated R...

Channel adaptive M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) schemes have been developed to provide higher average link spectral efficiency by taking advantage of the timevarying nature of wireless fading channels. Much of the earlier work on such schemes uses the assu...
